It's true. The decision has been made. Alan Keyes is crazy personified. Take a look for yourself.
I had my issues with President Bush, but I never used language that would encourage some fool to think that they needed to act. Keyes is essentially inviting someone to act on his mad thoughts. This is the same man who disowned his daughter, when she came out. This is the same man who hightailed it to Illinois (leaving Maryland behind) to run for the U.S. Senate, when it was clear that he had nothing to offer, except dark skin and madness.
Sometimes you just wish people would learn to mutter to themselves and spare the rest of us.

Free, I have a theory to try out on you. Goes like this--Alan Keyes is GOOD for America. And so is Rush Limbaugh and Ann Coulter. And for that matter, so is the "Reverend" Fred Phelps and his little band of gay-haters who show up at funerals to point out how much God hates fags.
I don't want them to shut up, I want them to keep ranting. I think they do America a service. My guess is that for every one person who might be persuaded by their hate-filled, dim-witted screeching, there are two people who hear them and say to themselves, "Holy shit! Are these people for real?" I don't believe that America is in danger of following the extremists into fascism as much as we are in danger of crashing and burning under the weight of our own indifference. We NEED the likes of Keyes and Limbaugh and Coulter and Phelps to WAKE US UP.
A few weeks ago after Rush Limbaugh made his famous "I want Obama to fail" statement, President Obama got a lot of criticism for responding to Limbaugh by name. Lots of the cable tv commentariat believed that the President should be "above" that kind of thing, that to respond was a "blunder" because it only "called attention" to Limbaugh and his ilk.
Scuze me...there is a reason Barack Obama won the Presidency, and it aint because he doesn't understand politics. Calling attention to Rush Limbaugh was exactly what Obama intended to do. The point was not to use reason to rebut Limbaugh, the point was to say to America..."HELLO?? Do you SEE what we are up against here?" It was also a way of elevating Mr. Limbaugh to a status and position that Mr. Obama would love to see him in--the de facto spokesman of an otherwise leaderless Republican party.
I am just fine with Mr. Keyes rants getting lots of news coverage. He and his kind are far more damaging to the right than they are to President Obama. That's my theory anyway.
