Ken Blackwell Makes No Sense, and Jon Stewart Gave Him a Forum to Show Us Why

Ken Blackwell is someone with whom I have little in common, politically, and his appearance on "The Daily Show" last night was MasterCard priceless. Wouldn't he be the perfect replacement for Michael Steele as the head of the RNC?

Just watch.

I will say this. In terms of some of the worst abuses of the Bush administration in dealing with the war on terror, the Obama administration has indeed maintained that "power grab"(warrantless wiretapping, continuing the use of military tribunals for detainees, etc). Mind you, that wasn't a "power grab" according to Blackwell, when Bush did it.

I got as far as Stewart correcting Blackwell on the fact that Bush had appointed more judges than Obama during the same length of time.

That's the really frustrating part of trying to have reasoned discourse with people like Blackwell; they don't care about facts. They throw out these purposely loaded statements like "Obama is a tyrant" and have nothing to back them up and refuse to change their opinions when beaten about the head and neck with the truth.
Honestly, I'd love to see Blackwell as the RNC head. I think he could do very good work for the Democrats were he in that position.

Mr. Blackwell was an Ohio candidate endorsed by the proprietor of The World Harvest Church (located just east of Columbus), Rod Parsley. That house of worship has its members sign over their material assets, including retirement packages. The seating at services is dictated by who gives the most money, so if you will scrimp a little more, you can sit closer to the front. Many people in Ohio liken it to a cult.

When the members want to purchase a car, someone from the church goes with them, as the church controls the money.

It appears to me World Harvest Church is a combination of mind control, financial bondage, and fear peddling, for the members, and a political action committee draped about the cross, for the leader.

Ken Blackwell met with Rod Parsley many times. The IRS accused the Pastor Parsley of improper support of Blackwell's run for governor of Ohio.

If you think Ken Blackwell is a piece of work. Follow this link, where he compares same sex couples to farm animals.

You do NOT want Ken Blackwell getting a position of national attention, such as running the RNC because his strongest backers include charismatic manipulators including Rod Parsley.

@Anon: Trust me, my hope that Blackwell ascends to the Chair of the RNC is purely facetious. I thought he was an utter disaster back in Ohio, and my opinion has not changed.
