Oh, I lay this squarely at the feet of both corporations and their paid lackeys in government, regardless of party. And stop pretending that this has not been an effort that began in 1981, and has been adhered to with every single successive Congress since then. The class war that began with the rise of Reagan has many Democratic players, but it is a Republican baby.
