For obvious reasons, the death of
Elizabeth Taylor was going to be newsworthy. She represented, for many, the epitome of a movie star. I must confess that I've not seen very many of her movies, and right now, I can name only two that I've seen recently and remember: "Suddenly, Last Summer," and "Cat on a Hot Tin Roof." Of course the world knew that Taylor was good friends with the late Michael Jackson. But I think that my impression of Taylor came through her early and indefatigable advocacy for AIDS research. She will be missed.
